Makes 1-1/4 cups

2 tablespoons Butter Flavor CRISCO Stick or 2 tablespoons Butter Flavor CRISCO all-vegetable shortening
2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon white pepper
Dash ground nutmeg
1/3 cup water
1/2 teaspoon instant chicken bouillon granules
2/3 cup half-and-half
1/4 cup shredded Swiss cheese
In small saucepan melt Butter Flavor Crisco. Remove from heat. Stir in flour, salt, white pepper and nutmeg. Slowly blend in water, bouillon granules and half-and-half. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until mixture thickens and bubbles. Stir in cheese until smooth. Serve with vegetables or eggs.
